Thank you.

Dearest Leaders,

Firstly I would like to thank the pioneer batch of HLC members for all your contributions for the past year. Just submitted the report for our school magazine and realise how much activities we participated in. From the beginning of the year till the end we were involved in one way or another. Thank you again for all your efforts in helping to make the school a better place for all.

As we learn from our experience this year, I'm sure we can continue and improve the school in our little ways. We are going through a renewal process to bring in more to our family but we will not forget you ..the pioneers.

As you embark on your next phase of your education, I am in the process of making a small parting gift for the pioneer batch of HLC members - A small dvd collection of photo/videos taken for the past year. Lastly I thank you all again for sticking with me in this journey and for those who decided to pursue your other interests I thank you and all the best for your future endeavours.

Loola 08 ( 4th ~ 7th November)

Dear Leaders

There will be a briefing for the above-mentioned trip on 18 October 08 at 9am in the AVA room

1) If your parents are unsure whether to let you go, you can get them along for the briefing.
2) Those HLC members who have yet to get the consent form please see me next week.
3) This trip is FULLY SUBSIDED.

I received feedbacks from some of our existing members that some of you are not going. I managed to secure fundings for this trip doesn't mean that we can have the same priviledge next year. I have 40 vacancies for this trip.

Other than using it to equip you with further leadership skills it also serve as a BONDING session to prepare for our first major event next year which is the SEC 1 ORIENTATION. I do intend to take it up and organise the WHOLE event BUT if the responses for the camp is luke-warm then I will not volunteer our services becaue i cannot guarentee that the event will be a success if our leaders are not committed to the cause. Do let me know next week. Thanks

Wuxi, Cheers, TD, YC and Japan?

Dearest Leaders

As we approaches to the end of the year activities are coming THICK and FAST. Just send off some of our leaders to host our guests from Vietnam and we have another group coming in on Monday. Just to keep you on your toes on certain events. As mentioned your help as HOUGEAN LEADERS is required. If you want to commit yourself as a member of this council do step up NOW if not thank you...

1) Wuxi student Visit

20 Wuxi students will be attached to the school from 3rd to 8th August. Our roles this time is to prepare 2 items. 1st is 1 hour of team bonding games in the AVA room. 2nd is a 30min tour of the school which is quite similar to what we did for the Sec 1 Orientation. I already have enough leaders for this event.

2) Cheering competition

The Cheering competition preliminary is on this coming Monday. It is open to all Sec 1 to 3 classes. Need people to help on Monday and on National day itself which is the final. Interested party please see me this Saturday at 11am in the school.

3) Teachers' Day

The HLC on the whole need to prepare teachers' day gift for all teachers. Last year the Prefects did a photo frame for all. Need you to brainstorm and start the prep. Sec 3 EXCOs please coordinate.

4) Youth Corner

The youth corner is almost up and just receive info that there are "exciting" things to be purchase for it. Once it done up need a schedule for HLC to 'jaga' it.

5) 3 month tour of Japan

The school has ask me to look into sending ONE student leader to Japan for 3 months starting 1 October to 31st December. Partly sponsored by school. Interested leader let me know by next Tuesday so that we can interview you.

There are many things and events on to develop your Leadership, it whether you want to step forth and learn.
