The other half of you.

Howdy all Hougean Leaders! :)

Alright, guess that some of you might be in a whirlpool of thoughts about the council right now.
So, it's high time we do some reflection shall we? :D Believe many of you have been busy with life and all but now, it's alrdy the hols so let's all turn our attention(FULLY) t the council ok!! :)

Know that deep down within our hearts, there's still a part of us who knows clearly how much Mr cheong has done for us regardless of how horrendous/atrocious we've been. Also, we know that most of the time he's been keeping one eye opened & the other closed when he sees us misbehaving or whatsoever. But now, enough's enough. Time to look back into the past few months and see what has the council actually done for the school? Was there any major difference at all? /:

Now that we've analysed the problem, we'll need to work in unity, hand in hand, side by side, together. Have faith that we'll be able to change things and i'm sure things will turn out just fine, back to the way it was where we all started our journey. (the bonds we had during hlc'o7!)

However, others may ask : What's the point in rebuilding/restoring it when some of us are not even being appreciated? No one cares for our existence at all, why should we bother?

Alright then, here's something.
Ask yourself if you've ever tried to blend in or contribute, willing to make a difference? How much effort you've put in, and whether were you judging people through tinted glasses? Ask and think, search & dig way downnn into your heart for the truth. Were you really so ever-ready to make the difference or was it just empty talk over and over again? l:

People say, action speaks louder than words. Instead of accusing & always finding fault with others, why not ask yourself, have I done enough? What stops me from doing more? Where have i gone wrong? Am i really giving my best at all? Well, even if you've tried but failed for countless times, it's alright to try again, success is attained from infinite amount of failures. All you've got to do is learn to pick yourself up! :)

Don't think about the harvest that you'll get after all the hard work, just envision your goals, and wok towards it. It's not about what you're gonna gain from all these, it's about the learning process. Yet, it is also not about taking, but giving all that you can to the fullest. There won't even be a need for you to think about how fruitful your harvest will be. :)

All of us have a part to play. In order to make th council work, start first by respecting yourself, the council members and the school. Recall what Lye and the facils have taught us and reinforce the values! Prove to us that we didn't undergo all those trainings in vain. Do your best to service the school (willingly) and soon, you'll find yourself discovering many different sides of life and experiences and really, at the end of the day, you'll thank yourself for realising th fact that you made the right choice. Then again, if really you think that all these serve too much for you to handle, it's alright to opt out, no one will blame you. Life's about choices, so you just have to make a firm decision and go towards the direction that you believe in. :D

And Mr cheong, thankyou for your efforts that you've been giving! :D THANKS! We know you'll forever be in-charge of us right! Though, it's about time we leaders took control. :)

Tidbits for the upcoming camp and future leadership in YOU :D

1) No one's perfect, accept them for who & what they are. God made each and everyone diffrent, & that's what makes us special. Don't complain about other's flaws and look at yourself instead.

2) Voice out! :D if you have any comments/suggestions/observations that you'd like to share, don't be afraid to voice out ! Who knows that maybe that's just the statement everyone's been looking for and ta-da! You'll make the difference! :) It only takes one to start the ball rolling. Allow others to feel you and the best way is to communicate through honest feedback. that's why the word is there : feedback. Don't even wait till when things start to fall apart/crumble and then voice out, It'll be too late. Be open and frank! Like they say, the early bird catches the worm y'know. ;) So, have courage !

3) Be humble. Be sensitive to your feelings and others around you. Don't give attitudes and know that the choice of words you use might hurt the other party so beware of your tone. Ups and downs, downs and ups, you wouldn't know that one day you might need to lean on one of us. Thus, be nice !

4) The camp will arrive soon before you know it, 16-18june. Only 3 days and it'll be over in the blink of an eye, take the 3 days to really commit yourself and learn. Espescially the young ones and the new recruits. Guide them along and project the right examples. Let them feel the spirit and bonding within the council. Pull those who've sidetracked along the way back into the correct lane. Help one another whole-heartedly. & don't take things for granted and only realise how precious they are when they're gone. (:

p/s : not good with words thus v sorry if the entry sounds offensive but really hope things will take a better turn in time to come. lastly, shall end the entry with something that came across recently :

Believe and Succeed

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,"i will try and try again tomorrow." Only a single spark is needed to create a huge bonfire!

:)
